One true source
Every club, every season, the same forms. Emergency contacts, medical notes, allergies, consents, photo permissions. Written out again on a different piece of paper by a different volunteer, and out of date within a month.
An Athlete or a coach owns their own ID. If you are a teenager or younger, a parent or guardian is attached to it and holds it with you until you are old enough to hold it alone.
Emergency contact details, medical information, consents and permissions. The things that are useless if they live in a folder in somebody's boot.
Your club, your school, your other club, the coach covering a session. One source, current, the same for all of them. No more retyping it for safeguarding.
Why it matters
A young Athlete plays for a school, a rugby club and a football club, and none of them talk to each other. Their ID does.
Wednesday, she takes a knock in a PE lesson. School logs it. Nobody rings the football club, because nobody ever does.
Saturday, her coach opens the squad and it is there.
She does not get played. The return-to-play protocol gets followed, because the person who needed to know, knew.
He looks flat. Half a yard off it, head down, not chasing. The coach reads it as effort and leaves him out.
His ID says he has done a thousand minutes of sport this week, across three sports and two schools.
He was not coasting. He was cooked. The load is visible, so somebody pulls the intensity down instead of dropping him.
It travels
Change club and your ID goes with you, because it was never the club's. New season, new team, new sport, same you. The record does not restart every time somebody new picks up the register.
And because it is one record across everything you play, you can see across it. How your confidence in gymnastics compares to your confidence in football. Whether the thing you are working on in one sport is showing up in the other.
That is a view no single club has ever been able to give you, because no single club ever had the whole picture.

There is a version of this built for organisations that need to issue and verify identity at scale: age assurance, safeguarding status, membership and eligibility, answered without handing over the underlying file. A body confirms what is true; the person keeps the record.
That sits under Sport Head as a standalone identity layer, and it works whether or not the organisation uses the rest of SHOT.
